  1. a) The cells were cultured in normal growth medium prior to as well as during cultivation in soft agar (DMEM supplemented with 10% NCS and 1% PS).
  2. b) The cells were cultured in transformation medium 2 days prior to as well as during cultivation in soft agar (DMEM supplemented with 10% FBS and 1% PS).
  3. c) Numbers indicate mean numbers of colonies per well of 4 wells ± SD.
  4. d) Statistically significantly different from colonies derived from NIH3T3-LXSN (control) cells grown in FBS, p < 0.05.
